Congratulations & Gratitude
CHS VEX Robotics

This week Niharika Anand, Olivia Arcement, Neathan Aresh, Sai Chitta, Rasesh Joshi, Naveed Kabir, Aiden Lee, Jonah Nicpon, and Karthik Vishwanatham travelled to Dallas, TX to compete in the world’s largest robotics competition. With over 20,000 teams from 50 countries around the world participating in the VEX robotics, just earning the ticket to be one of the 800 teams invited to the competition was itself an incredible accomplishment!

Our team, 1275E, placed in the top half of their division. They formed competitive alliances and friendships with teams from as far away as Thailand, Mexico, Canada, Taiwan, China, and Ireland! And, they return home to us with storybook memories that will last a lifetime.

Students interested in participating in VEX Robotics for 2023-24, see Mrs. Gant in the Engineering room for more information. Applications will be available and due in May. Also, stay tuned for results from our first ever JROTC VEX team, 1275F. Their division is competing over the weekend!

Special thanks to Mrs. Gant for her relentless commitment to our students and for creating a thriving VEX Robotics program at CHS!

Congratulations and welcome home!

Campus Beautification

PTSA would like to thank the 55 student volunteers at our Campus Beautification Work Day on Wednesday, April 26.  The students were amazing and accomplished a great deal.  Special thank you also to to Ms. Hood, and Ms. Cutillo for their help and to Beta Club who purchased the bulk mulch.

Our Campus Beautification volunteers provided 120+ hours of community service to CHS!  We filled 10 yard bags with weeds, sticks, and debris, picked up four large bags of trash, trimmed rose bushes, spread 15 bales of pine straw, watered numerous new plants and trees, and shoveled, transported, and spread approximately 7 cubic yards of bulk mulch.  The grounds look fabulous!  PTSA appreciates your continued help and support with Campus Beautification projects.

Atlanta Community Food Bank Food Drive

The Service and Outreach Committee ran a successful 2nd annual food drive at Chamblee High School!  The Chamblee community donated a total of 389 lbs of food, and $179  to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.  A special thank you to Beta Club, Interact Club, and the Chamblee Varsity Girls Soccer team, who all contributed and helped make this food drive a success!  What a great event for our community!

SWIM & DIVE

We hope you are excited about the 2023-2024 school year at Chamblee High School.  Our boys team finished this season as County Champions and State Runner-Up while the girls were County Runner-Up and finished 4th at State.

The swimming and diving season for 9th through 12th grade (no 8th grade) runs from mid-October through early February.  Once again we compete against one of the most competitive schedules in the state--  see the first draft of the 2023-2024 meet schedule.  Students elect whether to attend year-round club team practices, morning practices before school, or afternoon practices.  All practices (and most meets) are held at our on-campus pool.

Our kickoff information meeting takes place in September-- we will publish more information in the CHS Bulldog Bulletin in the Fall.

To participate in high school sports you must get a new physical form completed on an official form each year and this physical must occur after April 1.  Next year CHS will continue to use an online system (Dragonfly) for submitting the required physical and completing several online forms.

We will send out more information about our September information meeting to the CCHS Bulldog Bulletin in the Fall.
