| Campus Beautification Thank you to all who volunteered at the PTSA Campus Beautification Work Day on Tuesday, April 11. Thirty amazing students weeded, planted shrubs and perennials, spread mulch, assisted with maintenance on the pond, and did general campus cleanup. The campus looks wonderful! We appreciate our dedicated student volunteers. Special thanks also to our adult volunteers, Ms. Hood and Mr. Smiley. We appreciate you all!
Our last Campus Beautification Workday for this spring is scheduled for Wednesday, April 26 from 3:30-5:30 pm. PTSA will provide tools, supplies, gloves, and snacks. DANTE PORTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP The Blue & Gold Foundation is pleased to announce that applications for the Dante Porter Memorial Scholarship are now available. The scholarship recognizes and rewards an outstanding graduating CHS senior with a one-time award of $1000 to assist the student in pursuing their educational objectives. Eligible students will exhibit school spirit and pride and participate in extra-curricular activities or volunteer. No essay is required. Applications are due on May 8, 2023. | MARCHING BAND Have fun, meet new friends, and be a part of the award winning CHS Marching Bulldog Band for 2023-2024! Play an instrument or be in the Color Guard while cheering on the awesome Bulldogs football team. Marching Band is a group of talented and dedicated students who welcome new members including incoming freshmen as well as upperclassmen. If you haven’t already, sign up before April 29th and win a candy bar! To sign-up, complete the Commitment Form on or before May 24. | Atlanta Food Bank The Service and Outreach Committee for the Chamblee High School PTSA is partnering with the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) to hold our 2nd Annual School-wide Food Drive, requesting both food and monetary donations. The ACFB helps to distribute over 65 million meals across metro Atlanta and North Georgia. Let’s join together again as a community to help end hunger and fight food scarcity in Georgia! Last year we donated 1,026 lbs of food and $250 to the ACFB. With your help, we know we can top that this year! The food drive will be held April 11-21. Please bring in food items during these dates and place in the Food Bank bins provided at the entrances to school. Don't forget to ask how you can earn Service Hours with your Club! SENIOR LEGACY GIFT Commemorating Chamblee High School is a proud tradition of the Senior Class. This year, with your help, we will continue our Senior Class Legacy by bestowing a gift to the school in honor of the Class of 2023. The Class of 2008 began our beautification projects with the commitment of making our school campus more welcoming, attractive, and informative. You can view a list of all the previous Senior legacy projects on the Blue & Gold website.
The Class of 2023, along with The Blue & Gold Foundation, would like to purchase additional indoor coated entry mats for several doors into CHS. These mats are custom designed with our Bulldog logo and will say “Class of 2023” on them. LACROSSE Boys The Varsity Boys traveled to Dacula last Tuesday to secure a 15-4 victory. The next evening they were on fire and took down SW Dekalb 12-4! The Bulldogs are set to wrap up their first-ever winning season this week taking on Riverwood (Wednesday) and Druid Hills (Thursday). LET'S GO BULLDOGS!! |
SOCCER Girls The Chamblee Girls Varsity Soccer team closed out their first round of playoffs with a 9-0 victory! Way to go girls! Goals were scored by Alessandra W (3), Regan D (2), Ansley H, Gabby K, Kyla O, and Sara B. Assists by Ansley H (2), Gabby K (2), Cassidy K (2), Kyla O, Alessandra W. The Chamblee Player of the Game was Alessandra Washington! The second round game vs OLA will be held on Monday, April 17th at 6pm @ North Dekalb Stadium. Come support the team!!! Boys The Varsity boys started the playoffs with a big win (4-2) against Harris County last Wednesday. Goals were scored by: Mario Hernandez, Daniel Chavez, and Henry Peacock with perfect assists by Travis Conner. Next round of the playoffs will be on Tuesday in Augusta to take on Greenbrier. Go Bulldogs!

AP Exam Practice Sessions With AP® Exams just around the corner, encourage your AP teachers and students to take advantage of AP Daily: Practice Sessions—a new video resource designed to help students review course content and practice applying what they’ve learned throughout the school year.
These sessions will be available in just a few days: | | • | April 17: Video sessions 1–4 available | | • | April 24: Video sessions 5–8 available |
| AP Daily: Practice Sessions focus on providing students with practice on free-response and multiple-choice questions, with the aim of helping them get familiar with the types of questions they’ll see on exam day.
Every video will be approximately 15 minutes long and be released in AP CLASSROOM and on YouTube.
All videos will remain accessible through the AP Exam administration so that students can watch at times that work best for them.
