Gratitude & Congratulations
Campus Beautification

PTSA Campus Beautification Workday this week was very successful.  The 25 plus student volunteers were amazing and accomplished a great deal.  We weeded, picked up trash, planted several shrubs and a tree, spread pine straw mulch, did some maintenance on the pond, replanted our pots with new perennials, and created new paths for easier access to the Academic Building from Bulldog Plaza.  The grounds look fabulous. Thank you to our awesome students and alumni parent Ms. Hood!

PTSA plans to have two Campus Beautification Days before the end of the school year.  Look for details coming very soon!

Bulldog Dash 5K

Thank you to the generous sponsors of the 2023 Bulldog Dash 5K!

The Blue & Gold Foundation would like to thank all who supported the 2023 Bulldog Dash 5k!  We are grateful to CHS and CMS Administration for their help. All race proceeds will benefit long term projects at Chamblee High School and Chamblee Middle School.

Kudos to our amazing student volunteers who braved the cold and assisted wherever needed, including packet pick up, t-shirt distribution, and serving as course marshals.  We appreciate  our CHS Bulldogs!

A special thank you also goes to Ben Bryant and Mary Sallach (and their committee) who coordinated the fun and successful race.  Ben is a current CHS parent, a graduate in the CHS Class of 1999, and serves on the Board of Directors of both the CHS Blue & Gold Foundation and the CMS Education Foundation.  Mary is also parent of a current CHS student and is the President of the CMS Education Foundation.  We appreciate their hard work and excellent leadership that made the 2023 Bulldog Dash 5K so successful.  .

This week they have 3 matches! Monday they will host North Springs, Tuesday they travel to face Druid Hills and Thursday they travel to Kell.

LET'S GO BULLDOGS!!

SOCCER

Girls

The Chamblee JV Girls soccer team won 3-0 against Dunwoody on Saturday and tied Fellowship Christian on Monday, bringing their record to 5-2-3.  Goals were scored by Addie Yarbrough, Juliet Herman, Mackenzie Lewis, and Kelly Finnegan.

The Chamblee Varsity Girls Soccer team added two wins to their record this week!  They played Arabia Mountain Tuesday night and won 10-0.  Goals were scored by Solai W (4), Kyla O (3), Mia Y, Cassidy K, and Sophia W.  Assists by Kyla O, Alessandra W, Cassidy K (4), Ansley H, Gabby K, Mia Y.  Congratulations to Cassidy K who was the Player of the Game!

The girls then played Decatur Friday night, winning 7-0.  Goals were scored by Gabby K (2), Kyla O, Solai W (2), Ansley H, and Mia Y.  Assists by Cassidy Pfau, Ansley H (2), Kyla O, Kourtney O, Cassidy K. Congratulations to Gabby K, who was Player of the Game!

Boys

The Chamblee boys continued their region 4 play this week tied for second with a 1 - 1 region record. The boys could solidify their playoff chances with a good week and boy did they do just that.

On Tuesday night the boys played Arabia Mountain. Arabia showed great tenacity but the overall team play by the boys overwhelmed Arabia with the boys cruising to a mercy ruled game 12-2. Here are the final stats from the game:

  • Travis Connor
    • 3 goals and 2 assist
  • Henry Peacock
    • 3 goals and 2 assist
  • Grant Polk
    • 2 goals
  • Pierce Rosenhaft
    • 2 goals
  • Ben Gilboa
    • 1 goal
  • Alec Kraby
    • 1 assist

Travis and Henry P were players of the game and now have a 2-1 region record tied with Decatur for second place with Decatur visiting us Friday for 'Senior Night'

The atmosphere on Friday night was full of rainy conditions but had an eerie feeling something electric was going to occur that night with so much riding on the game, not only a win would secure a playoff spot but would secure a second place finish in the region which would equate to us hosting at least one round of the playoffs.

Well the boys did not disappoint with a thrilling to the end finish win of 2-0, with goals by Travis Connor and Sam Brown (SR). With the win the boys are 3-1 in the region and control their own destiny. Next week they have games against Rowell away Monday night and then wrap up the season visiting region foe Lithonia. We look to see you all there as the team gets ready to close out the regular season and the start of the playoffs season.

BLUE & GOLD ENVELOPES

Help the Class of 2023 celebrate by stuffing their Blue and Gold Envelopes. If you have a friend or family member that is graduating, submit something for them!   We will begin collecting letters on May 1 - and will organize them by student and stuff them all into one large envelope - all you need to do is deliver letters and cards (via mail or in person) to the school no later than Friday, May 12.

To drop them off in person: Be sure to write/type your Senior’s FULL NAME on ALL notes, cards and letters before dropping them off in the plastic bin outside Chamblee’s main entry doors

To submit via USPS mail, address them to:
