Course Requests for the 24-25 School Year
Students will receive a copy of the courses they selected for next school year during BDT on Thursday, Feb. 15th. Parents and students should review the course requests and if changes are necessary, indicate the changes on the form, sign and return it to the counseling office. If no changes are necessary, still sign and return the course verification form. This is the last chance to make elective changes for the upcoming school year. Counselors will not process schedule corrections via email or through drop-in's; please return the form if a change is needed. All forms are due back to the counseling office by Thursday, Feb. 22nd.
If students did not select courses, their counselor selected courses for them, and this is their chance to make corrections. Students who are absent during BDT should stop by the counseling office to pick up a course verification form from Ms. Mardini.
Dual Enrollment Interest Meeting
If students were not in attendance at the dual enrollment meeting on Feb. 1, 2024, they will have one final opportunity to attend a meeting on Thursday, February 15, 2024 during BDT in the auditorium. Please note that attendance at one of these meetings is mandatory for any student who wants to dual enroll this summer or next school year. Attendance will be taken at the meeting. This meeting is for students only.
Parents who missed the dual enrollment meeting can watch a recorded presentation on the counseling website. Be sure to also review the steps to dual enrollment document posted on the counseling website.
Please begin researching the college admission requirements for dual enrollment. Some colleges will require a SAT or ACT score and if so, students need to register now for either the February ACT or March SAT in order to have scores back in time for their application.
NOTE: Georgia State is now test optional for students who have a 3.2 core GPA (Perimeter locations) and a 3.4 core GPA (Atlanta downtown location). If a student doesn't meet that GPA but has at least a 3.0 core, they will need either the SAT or ACT scores.
