Dual Enrollment Interest Meeting

If students were not in attendance at the dual enrollment meeting on Feb. 1, 2024, they will one more opportunity to attend a meeting on Thursday, February 15, 2024 during BDT in the auditorium. Please note that attendance at one of these meetings is mandatory for any student who wants to dual enroll this summer or next school year. Attendance will be taken at the meeting. This meeting is for students only.

Parents who missed the dual enrollment meeting can watch a recorded presentation on the counseling website. Be sure to also review the steps to dual enrollment document posted on the counseling website

Please begin researching the college admission requirements for dual enrollment. Some colleges will require a SAT or ACT score and if so, students need to register now for either the February ACT or March SAT in order to have scores back in time for their application.

NOTE: Georgia State is now test optional for students who have a 3.2 core GPA (Perimeter locations) and a 3.4 core GPA (Atlanta downtown location). If a student doesn't meet that GPA but has at least a 3.0 core, they will need either the SAT or ACT scores.

Celebrate your School Counselors During National School Counseling Week, Feb. 59, 2024

National School Counseling Week 2024, “School Counseling: Standards-Based, Student-Focused,” sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), will be celebrated from Feb. 5–9, 2024, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. “School counselors work with all students to remove barriers to learning by addressing students’ academic concerns, career options and social/emotional skills,” said Jill Cook, ASCA executive director. “School counseling programs help to increase student achievement and provide a much-needed resource for students, parents, teachers and administrators. School counselors are integral to student success.”

Thank you to our Chamblee Counseling Department for all you do for our students and school community.
